Sometimes ... March 4th, 2013 Kansas City - sometimes, one doesn't know what to say |
Okay, it's March now, and as usual, the first week of a month is the time for a new article. Fine by me, usually, a lot of surprising,
upsetting, exciting things are going on in the World and many of them are interesting enough to warrant a closer look. And admittedly,
the US are usually provider of most of those subjects.
But this months, I admit, I feel a little at a loss here. Okay, the sequester ... everybody talks about the sequester, which makes it
entirely unnecessary to say more about it. Especially, since it was clear it would come, it was clear, it would be used as political
milk cow and the blame pushing would reach new peaks of depravity.´Which essentially is, what happens daily since Obama'S 2008 campaign
(did that one stop yet?) and therefore is not worth another article.
On the history front, the turret of the ironclad USS Monitor has been raised from the sea bottom. Two of the sixteen sailors who died
when the ship went down, were found. That's history, and not unjustified, those two, who remain still not conclusively identified, will be
buried at Arlington. Which is interesting for those who think, they are related (chances are 2:16 or 1:8 without conclusive DNA comparisons)
and for ship lovers of course. But not in general. The Civil War is over, what is to be learned from it is forgotten or twisted already
for political profit and thus, literally a dead subject.
Black History Month is over as well. We honored 50,000 black soldiers who fought and gave their lives for the freedom of the slaves. And
we forgot to mention about half a million white men, who fought and died for the same cause. As usual. So what to say about it? Nothing.
Truth is, freedom is a good thing. All who fought for it, deserve to be honored. To cut out ninety percent of them is the worst racist thing
political opportunism has done to history, at least to the relative short US history. Remind me a bit of the Nazis, who tried to cut out
Jewish officers, scientists, scholars and writers from history books and what was left was just incoherent piece work. Usable in politcal
faking, maybe, but far from the truth and the deeper wisdom to be leanred from history. | Obamacare comes. Okay, we can't afford it. But that's no news. Medicare will be plundered for it. Which is also no news, Obama stole already
a big part ($800 billion?
Nothing new about those guys
What is left is not that much that he can't carry it away for his spending spree anyway. And the people who receive
Obama's "gift" will have to see whether they rather eat or pay the raising premiums. Businesses go broke on it, but that's also no news. So
the only positive thing in all of it is, that a lot of Obama voters will hear "told you so". And that will harden the fronts even more. Which,
in a country, that went the last time, it was that split into a five year Civil War, is probably not a good thing either. However, who hasn't
realized it over the last four years, will not learn it in the remaining few months before the hammer hits them, and thus, what to say about
it? The numbers are there, everybody can read them and, given the school system likes to teach more ideology than math, most won't understand
them anyway.
The serial killer front! Yeah, that's a subject. No, not really. Suffolk County messed up and all they do now is covering up, protecting in
the process another serial killer. So, nothing to talk about it. They mess up since more than two years, so, who expected them to change
the strategy? We can watch this sad story another two years, ten, or twenty. The record is Wichita and Dennis Rader, the BTK. They made it
that way to three decades, with the very same policies and strategies, so against all appearance, SCPD has still rooom to improve -
downwards.
So, anther subject, something worth an article? Lanza, gun grabbing, general | stupidity, Holmes? Or even, God beware, the Pope? Well, an
organization that calls for chastity and celibacy will have some problems with the normal human notion of sexuality. And if it is anyway
forbidden, what difference makes it to add more forbidden thoughts ... and that is, what happened there. Regardless who the Pope is. But then,
this wasn't even news 2000 years ago ... so?
See, the problem, not to know what to write an article about (well, of course, you can always squeaze something out, but that's boring), is
basically the only thing worth writing an article. We are so used to child molestation, spree shootings, the ethical bancruptcy of the
political system, extremism of all forms and the general idea of profit before value, that we don't see those things as worth discussing
anymore. President Obama set the norm once more, when he said, he won't negotiate about the debt ceiling and the sequester. The door was shut.
His arrogant attitude made a solution impossible and now, that it went bad, he blames others. But he isn't alone. What he does, thousands
and thousands do it too, every day. The "idols", the "leaders" do it, so why not the normal person. Serial killers do it too. So why not ...
and here is, where the problem gets really nasty.
The real point here is, there are subject, there are problems, that need to be discussed and please, pronto. We have enough to resolve, in
the US, in the Western culture and on global levels. Only, we take the failure in the meantime as the new normal, something not worth to
write about. And I don't even know, what I consider worse: The bias forcing a lot of voices to twist the facts but at least to talk about
the issues, or the ambivalence born form apathy and amplified with lazyness and being too busy to take and take what is the neighbor's. So,
nobody can me accuse of having a too high opinion about humankind, but it has new lows that even worry me. So, maybe, it'S time to talk
about the issues and not about "leaders" and "ideologies" and "beliefs" but for the change facts? | ... back |
