2012: Another year gone ... almost!

And another year is almost over, the first review in pictures are already on the web, the first 2012-review-books are probably already in
the process of being printed and probably that will happen in China or Poland, more likely not in the US. So, despite the fact, almost a
month is left lets join the fray. Lets take a look back at 2012:
Well, there were the elections. Big campaigns, the most priciest election campaigns ever ... or at least till in four years. And the
campaign in which character assassination was the only weapon, the incumbent had. He was obviously not afraid to use it and it worked for
him. So, his followers will celebrate another four years while more kids will be undernourished (now it's about every sixth kid in the US),
while more people will be without jobs (the real unemployment number is now about 24 millions) despite always nicer looking official numbers.
Those numbers don't show the millions, who ran out of benefits and aren't counted by our government anymore. There are less people applying
for unemployment benefits because all the people that could be cut by the companies are already out there. No mathematical miracle in that.
So, what 2012 really showed us is the simple fact, America has obviously to work on it's education system. Less ideology, more math would
help.
We had the Olympics in London. Now, one can be a harsh critic, claim, it was too pricey and discuss certain points in the rulework. There is
always something. But in the end, it was an awesome spectacle and we saw the greatest active athletes in the World competing. So, yes. I
admit, I loved it. Things, like critique on Romney for being there on his own money while celebrating Michele's visit to London on the
taxpayer's bill, running around and hugging everybody like a kind of Mini-Oprah ... well, there is no big event without that inevitable
intrusion of in fact unconnected factors. So ... nice event. It didn't change the World, but it was nice.
Benghazi: Well, everybody heard of that. And the movie that allegedly cause a demonstration that went out of hand. Only there was no
spontaneous demonstration, only a planned and carefully executed attack. And for weeks, we heard from our government still the story
about the demonstration. Only when the truth came out on other ways, Obama pulled back. He did it so thorough, that a general side note,
he made in his rose garden press conference, became suddenly the major message and then, miraculously, there was allegedly never a
demonstration. The end result: Now he wants Susan Rice, the woman, who did the initial lying for him in his cabinet. A reward for services
rendered?

 Benghazi
Then there is the looming fiscal cliff. Well, that story isn't over yet. What we know is, Obama will sign nothing that doesn't damage the
ability of the US of A to attract investment capital. So, take out the warm clothes, this will become a cold place. But then, the majority
of the possible damage is already done. Thus, the actual effect will be not that bad anymore. Things that have already fallen to the
floor rarely fall deeper, don't they?
Fallen, that's a keyword for 2012, obviously. Fallen stars include Lance Armstrong, who is now pretty clearly at the end of the pole. However,
the damage he did, it can't be made unhappen. Those he could beat with doping, they will be still always the second ones at the finish lines
of their Tour de Frances. And when it comes to Sandusky ... well, the damage done is even bigger and it is hard to imagine how that can
be repaired. Did the world become a better place by pushing those icons from their sockets? I think not, because there are new icons on
new sockets and the laws of probability dictate, some of them will fall. In that, 2012 wasn't an unusual year either, just one more of many
years of hubris.
And then there were those, who are usually not mentioned in such year reviews. Malala Yousufzai, the girl that was shot by the Taliban
because she had the balls to speak the truth. Which is clearly something, nobody can say about the Taliban heros shooting at little girls.
Neither the part about the truth not the part about the ... oh well, you get the gist.
Then, there was the Duchess of Cambridge, formerly known as Kate Middleton, who gave us during the Olympics an image of what a later First
lady (because that is what the wife of a monarch will be) could be in terms of being dignified and still near to her people. Of course,
she profited from the background picture of Michelle, which can make a lot of things look good, but then, one has to give the Duchess: She
was good in what she did.
J. Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods. Normally only Stevens is mentioned by name. Those were | the four who died in Benghazi.Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were not part of the original security team. They went in with the reinforcements (eight
men was all, Tripoli could send) and died in the attempt to evacuate Americans from the CIA annex in Benghazi.
Oh well, and then there are the union organized workers at Hostess. For decades one of the better known producer of sweets, Hostes shut
down business after confronted with union demands that would have rendered any further production unprofitable. All workers lost their jobs.
The union bosses of course kept theirs. Average 7% of all workers were union organized in 2012. 93% of all workers weren't and just became
victims to the activism of their 7% colleagues. Good job, unions!
And then, 2012, is allegedly the last year of human existence. Remember, the planet will be destroyed in a zombie invasion aposcalypse
something. Well, it's the second shot on it after Reverend Harold Camp's failed rupture. If things go on with that speed, the Club of
Doomsday survivors will soon have to celebrate members who survived already a hundred of such Doomsdays ... personally, I work on sixty
survived. However, Obama plus Doomsday ... I think, it would be a good time to buy real estate. Provided someone has money left after four
years of Obama.

The Riha disappearance
In 1969, Dr. Thomas Riha disappeared and in the subconsequent series of events, Gloria Tannenbaum was arrested for forgery and under suspicion of two other homicides. She plead not guilty by reason of insanity and got away with it. The case has now been added to our serial killer collection.
