Obama won ... unfortunately so
November 8th, 2012 Kansas City: About love, hate and math
Okay, the priciest elections yet are over, Obama won again. From a mere sportive point of view. it's appropriate to congratulate the Democrats. But at that point, admittedly, my pity ends already. Millions of Americans live under the poverty line. When Obama took over for his first term, 30 million Americans. The day, he was re-elected for a second term, there were already 47 million Americans under the poverty line. The projection shows, if nothing drastic changes, there will be about 60 million Americans in poverty when Obama's second term is finished.
When Obama took office, there were virtually no starving kids in the US. After Obama's first term, every 6th kid in the US is undernourished.
When Obama took office, the US debt was a little under $10 trillion, now it's a little over $16 trillion. The projection shows, it will be $22 trillion if nothing drastic changes.
The average income is $4500 lower than it was before Obama and it will decrease further. In 2014, not 30 million Americans without health insurance will be fined for Obamacare but 47 million. People who can't afford health insurance in the first place and who struggle to make it over the month. Now they don't know whether they will have food on the table the next day, in 2014, they will know they will have no food because Obama fined them for Obamacare.
All those numbers are known. Democrats know them, Republicans know them, Independents know them, we all know them. So how is it possible, Obama got re-elected, despite his record?
The answer is probably in the perception of facts. For some, math is everything. They believe in numbers and in what numbers say.
Others vote by belly feeling and as many heavily manipulative speakers, Obama is a master to appeal to that belly feeling. Like a number of Democrats, he has understood to make himself almost sacrosanct, the big savior of almost messian proportions. Clinton did the same and he got away with changing the Oval Office into the Oral Office.
Romney on the other side? Too much brains, too much math to appeal to the belly feeling. The wrong skin color for others, damages already from some nasty primaries, he went in a race, in which he was painted the bad guy from the start. Too rich, too conservative, he will do this and that if elected (most of it plain lies to paint him bad). The priciest campaign as of yet has also been the dirtiest as of yet.
America had the choice between someone on the ground of reality, someone with experience, who had already proven, he can do jobs like they are demanded now, and a deceiver, who has an extreme bad record. Half of America decided for one side, the other half for the other side, the distribution of electoral votes per state made the difference. Fine, it's the Constitution, so it was fair and square.
So, from a mere legal point of view, nobody can complain (even I assume a lot of lawyers will still complain).

He won, America lost!

The problem is rather, what will we do now? Shall we ignore the record, shall we just close our eyes because now Obama is re-elected and it is allegedly our duty to support the President? Don't forget, that call comes from exactly the corner who fought Bush teeth and nails when he was President. The funny thing is, I agree with them in at least one point: To be President, especially when dipping in the whole country, doesn't protect from critique. Which brings us to the next problem: Obama never cared about critique. He just did his thing, which is why we are that bad in the economic bog while other countries recovered already since years.
So, what to do? The rich have it easy. They just leave. They pull out their money and leave. Behind, they leave an America even less attractive for investment capital, with even lower ability to create jobs and even slimmer chances to recover. The Dow Jones fell yesterday in two hours for about 300 points. Of course, as the left-leaning media and Obama himself claimed, it has nothing to do with the election results. Well, yeah. Here we go ... again ... Obama is innocent, regardless what his policy has caused. And thus, he holds his sacrosanct appearance that has made so many math inepts voting for him.
But then, we're stuck all together here. We, the normal people, who can't move too far away. We're subject to anything that comes our way. Obamacare-fines, tax bumps and so on. While we, on a mathematical level already knew, Obama's promise, to raise no new taxes on the middle class is not possible to keep because there are not enough rich people in the world to finance his spending sprees, we will have to pay the price when he finds that out. When Obama spoke years ago of the "gift, Obamacare makes to those too poor to get health insurance", we could do the math (and some did). But most will only realize, they bet on the wrong horse when the fines come. Nevermind, we have to live through it. Personally, I'm not worried, I suffered through Schröder in Germany, who did the exact same things to another economy that before and after him was/is one of the strongest on Earth. I feel somehow like a veteran in surviving lefties.
But for million Americans it will be the first time. Young families, trying to build a life, they will pay. Kids, standing at food lines already now. More eroding of the dollar, which makes imports pricier, true, but also makes gas and food pricier. I doubt, Donald Trump has to be worried about that, but so won't George Soros, Warren Buffet or Bill Gates be in trouble by that. The bill will be paid by the very normal Americans.
Debt? Debt is a subject. We are at $16 trillion, of which six are made by Obama. The projection shows, it will be $22 trillion till he is done with us. No news there.
So, all who voted for Obama, this is what you voted for. 60 million Americans in poverty, $22 trillion in debt, higher prices and starving kids. But, from a mere constitutional point of view, it was fair and square. Question is, will you take the responsibility? Or are we looking forward to another four years of blaming Bush and insulting everyone who didn't follow blindfolded your leader? Because the numbers were there to see and they told about what what is to come? Because this country is split and the ball is now in your court? You won, you have to show, you can turn things around or leave them as they were the last four years ... or make them worse. What America needs is not an outstretched hand, we are over that. What America needs is at least 3 million jobs over the compensation for population growth. You have to bring up per month at least 200,000 jobs to make that happen. Not 135,000 that are then quietly corrected down to 88,000 ... we speak real 200,000! And without putting $1,500,000,000,000 per year on new debt on the next and overnext generation! So, all you Obama-voters, are you ready to do this? Can you do this? Do you take responsibility for what you did to America?
