The wonders of technology
February 3rd, Kansas City: Some thoughts about technology
She is everywhere, omni-present as it is: The modern technology. Cell phones, tablets, now even cell watches ... or whatever one calls it. Telling you the time, let you texting while driving and hanging on the phone 24/7 eve in the most inappropriate places. Ever gone to the restroom in a restaurant and heard half a dozen people sitting on the bowls in their respective toilets and having phone conversations? Actually, given the other "environmental" noises, I feel some fleeting pity for the NSA employees who may or may not have to listen into those calls. One never knows nowadays.
And cell phones are not the end, unless you call a front-end and and also. There is always Twitter, Facebook and dozens of smaller social media sides. If you forbid your kids to have Facebook accounts, it's no problem: There is Instagramm. Mommy and Daddy never heard of it, but it allows kids to post dangerous private information as good as Facebook. And of course, also the alternative, Instagram isn't the only one, are already discovered by kid searching pedophiles as hunting ground. Well, it will take a little time, till technology has learned to post the photos of your kids automatically, right now, this only works for Facebook. But it will come, of course.
Well, and there is more to the wonders of technology. Ever had an app named "Angry Birds". Well, the NSA had it too, obviously. Congratulations, your file in Utah has reached 1 MB without the pics you posted and you are elgible for a free hop-analysis now. Lets hope, you didn't order a pizza from any pizza server who has also delivered to any person that was later connected somehow, maybe via KFC or by subsribing the same magazine, to a terror suspect. Because for a computer, who basically has no idea about pizzas, this means, you are two-step connected to a terror supect now. You really think, your kids will get that grant for college? Think again, they are now connected to a terror suspect (you) only one step away.
We all use technology. This article is published on our website in the Internet. So, it can be easily traced back to me. Which is no problem because I stand to what I write.
Hey, actually, my wife and me have our names printed on top of this site.

Cell phone, Twitter, NSA ... oh wonderful new world!

So, no surprise, this can be tracked back to me. Fine. Here is the part you don't know. You go through the Internet to this site. Or any other site, it doesn't matter. That means, you use the services of a provider who gives you access to the world wide web. Since the provider is American or has at least to have some infrastructure in the nation of the formerly free and brave, he is subject to laws, that force him to store records about your Internet activity and give them to the Government as well. Normally not the NSA directly but the FBI. However, data is easily copied form there to the new data center in Utah. No problem, technology makes it possible. So actually, this not very NSA friendly article can be also traced back to you as reader. And since I wrote in the past some unfriendly things about terrorists as well, somewhere, on other parts of this site, some terrorist names appear. Computers read "Mohammed Atta, the terrorist who never got laid". Well, computers have not the faintest idea, what "getting laid" means. But they recognize the name "Mohammed Atta" since he flew a plane into the WTC during the 9/11 terror attacks. So, I am pretty sure, a compueter at the NSA has at least tried to connect me to Mohammed Atta and Al-Qaeda. And they have a lot of evidence. I wrote in a book about another terrorist and his private interest in little girls. Computers don't know much about little girls and why they shouldn't be sexually abused by pedophiles. But they may recognize names in that book. Congratulations, my file at the NSA has gone over 1MB, I am eligible for a hop-analysis now.
Of course, in a nation that split as the US, there are enough people saying, this is all Bush's fault and Patriot Act. Newsflash, the
Patriot Act actually allows spying without a warrant only in case of concrete investigations. Since 2009, the NSA has stopped caring about such limitations. And, as I pointed out in another article, the construction on the new Utah data center started only weeks after the Obama administration took over. Coincidence? Well, yeah, maybe coincidence.
But the problem is not Obama. The problem is YOU. YOU, the guy with the cell phone, the iPad, the avid poster of Facebook posts. You don't only post what you are doing to Twitter. You also post with whom. And there are millions like you. All together give a complete picture of what everybody does at a certain time. No problem you say? Because you do nothing illegal? Well, did you order a soda in New York? Did you maybe have an opion about the one or the other aspect of government policies? Hey kid, did you post something about your daddy's new car? Because the IRS reads it and wonders how he paid it. Actually, we all do a lot of things, that aren't illegal. Question is, is the NSA doing nothing illegal with those information bits and pieces they acquired already on illegal ways? Food for thought! And maybe thinking is, what we all should do before pressing that post button on the cell phones ever again? Because the wonders of technology will transport your whole life, that of your friends, all your opinions and all your activities right to some people very interested in opinions that don't fit the official opinion you are supposed to have. THE AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE DENIES ANY RESPONSIBILTY FOR DAMAGES BY HARRASSMENT BY ADMINISTRATION, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES OR POLITICAL PARTIES THAT IS MAY CAUSED BY READING THIS ARTICLE ON AN UNSECURED INTERNET LINE OR VIA PROVIDERS WHO ARE FORCED BY LAW TO REPORT ANY INTERNET ACTIVITY TO THE OFFICIAL DATA COLLECTION AGENCIES. - PB -
