Another deal is made, you will pay for it!
January 3rd, 2013 Kansas City - What does the deal mean?
With big theater thunder, House and Senate voted for the deal to avoid the "fiscal cliff". However, what sounds basically good, it has it's catches. Because by cancelling the tax holiday, taxes raise. For the average family by about $700 per year. Now add to this the raising premiums for health insurance, the fines coming up for Obamacare (which are a punishment tax, regardless what President Obama claims) and we end up with easily $3200 additional costs for any two-person household, about $4500 for a family of four. And this isn't hitting the rich, Obama's so artful painted picture of the social enemy, no, it hits the very normal American family. The middle class and the poor, those with underaverage income the hardest.
Now, we are not at the end yet. Several blue states added also VATs and VAT increases to their tax repertoire. That is an indirect tax, so nobody can make a clear estimation how hard it hits which family. But one thing has to be clear: A family of four needs a certain amount of basic goods: Food, electricity, water, clothing, etc, etc. They just need it. Whether they are rich or poor, they need it. And so they pay VAT. Not without reason, VAT is considered the kind of tax most dangerous for an economy and at the same time the most unfair tax because it burdens mostly the poor. To pay a little more for everything, you need, it doesn't bother you if you're a billionaire or even just a millionaire. However, the single mother raising two kids from $1000/month will see things different. Or wait, she will not see them different, she will feel them different. Because at the end of the money is still so much month left.
Not without reason, food banks and soup kitchens have again an imprint on the image, people have of America.

Food lines in Detroit 2009 - just the beginning!

The effect is not new. Since four years the number of those, dependent on these charities, is on the raise. From 30 million Americans, the number raised to now almost 50 million Americans. And it will raise further, the "fiscal cliff" deal will make sure of it. But don't be worried: Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and President Obama, the people a lot of the low income voters voted for, they have their income, they will survive. When Obama's politics make people starve, when it raises the unemployment and fills the foodlines, we can be sure, it's not Michelle standing there with an empty stomach hoping for a meal. Neither are their kids. It will be your kids, it will be your wife, in the end, it will be you.
Now, the national debt ceiling is reached (once more). Of course, Congress will, in the last minute and with even more theater thunder, decide to make another deal. Obama will get the permission to borrow more money and spend on and on.
With $1.5 trillion debt per year of his presidency, he is already the priciest president ever. Here is the problem: Such a debt makes a country less trustworthy to get more loans. In the consequence, everyone from that country has a harder time to get money at a reasonable level of interest. Greece went through it and is still stuck there. So together with higher costs for Obamacare and tax hikes, American small businesses will face also the higher interest rates. Now, add higher energy costs (thanks to Bernie Bernanake's playing with the value of our currency to help out his cronie Obama), the higher costs of living, which will have to find their way into the salaries, and we are back to recession. Founding any kind of business is high risk under these conditions. Keeping employees, it's high risk under these conditions.
And those, who don't react on these risks? A number of them will go out of business. A big number. Every month some of them. There will be no big crash, not on this side. There will be just slow painful economic death. The very same kind of dying, we saw in the last four years. Only more of it. But well, the deal is made, the next show is coming up in February, when the debt ceiling is raised. America voted for that, America got it!
