From Lame Stream to Criminal Stream
April 3rd, 2012 Kansas City - Heat up the rage, fake the evidence
We all heard of Trayvon Martin, and from what point of view we ever see it, it's a tragedy. Whether one believes, Mr. Zimmerman shot him for "racist" reasons and without any need to defend himself or whether we believe, Mr. Zimmerman was attacked by Mr. Martin, it doesn't matter in the final result: A young man is dead, another man's life ruined. This is, what I call a tragedy.
However, this isn't about Trayvon Martin, this isn't about hoodies and it isn't about neighborhood watches and "stand your ground" laws. This article is about the media and how they handled this all.
This kind of story, tragedies, are like bodies laying somewhere around. It's inevitable, the vultures will not only circle but at some point touch down and get their piece of carrion. And to get it, all means are used.
We are used to media frenzies, in which lousy journalism, laziness of journalists, political bias and often mere stupidity have become inevitable ingedients. The case of Trayvon Martin is only one case more.
There were edited transcripts of phone calls, obviously intended to make sure, everyone would believe what the author of the article believed. That Zimmerman, who is himself half Hispanic and half Caucasian, is a racist who shot an African-American because of his skin color. The author did so by editing out lines of the transcripts of the phone calls to dispatch that night.
Of course, it's clear, Zimmerman for that game has to be labelled "white", not mixed as he is really. But then, we talk here about the same media calling President Obama "black" even he is in fact also mixed race. But media like to make impression, even against facts.
Other outlets take the same pictures out of the same security cam feed, blow them up and with enough photoshop, they "prove", that at the same time and on the same backhead was an injury/was no injury. Which proves only, that Photoshop has for some journalists replaced reality.
And there are more subtle methods. A lame stream outlet with rather conservative attitude (opposite to 90% of lame stream from the left), insists to call Mr. Zimmermann "the killer" instead of using his name or other words describing, what he really is: A suspect in a shooting causing doubts. If and when charges are filed, he becomes "the defendant"
The term killer would be only appropriate is he is convicted..

Note, that all those protesters carry signs with the image of Mr. Martin doctored by MSNBC as well. They don't even know, it's a fake.

As I said, this is not especialy about the casae of Trayvon Martin, this tragedy is only an example. It's about media. Media are protected by the principle of free speech. So nobody really can sue them, even not for faking evidence with Photoshop or for editinf transcripts. In fact, nobody can even sue them for ruining a mans's life. Whatever comes out of it, should it be proven, Zimmerman defended himself, it doesn't matter, his name is ruined for all future. And should it be proven, he murdered Mr. Martin? Then it's even worse because the media articles, especailly those based on forged evidence, will make a trial in the course of due process virtually impossible. Of course, the lame stream media like that. They earn a lot more on an O.J. Simpson like disaster than they would earn on anybody getting justice.
It's a kind of power to be untouchable and able to manipulate the masses. In this, the difference between an insane nutjob running around and killing prostitutes and a low ranking journalist sitting in his little corner and writing to heat the masses up, isn't too different. It's all about power and control. But with gret power comes great responsibility. The crazy, who rapes and kills his way through the country only thinks, he never has to face this responsibility..
But the journalist doctoring his evidence, he knows, he never has to change his responsibility. Makes one wonder, who is the worse sicko, does it?
But here's the rub: This is all based on Freedom of Speech. And like any law in human history, it will be diminished if it's abused too much.
It will be watered down and it will be limited due to the need to get those bad excuses for real journalists out of more important things. Especially in criminal cases, by denying responsibility, law enforcemant can't say a thing to a journalist anymore because the chances are good, said journalist will twist it, garnish it with "produced" evidence and endanger not only the case but also lives.
To make Freedom of Speech save again, I see only one possibility: The media have to embrace the responsibility they have. If such a wannabe reporter fakes evidence, his chief-editor has to fire him, making sure, the damage for society and for his own company is contained. It's that easy. Whoever was responsible for the doctored transcripts at MSNBC, he needs to go, he needs to become an example, that there are limits and those limits begin with criminal acts like forging evidence and nation wide slander based on this fake. And the NY Times who repeated it in full knowledge of the situation needs also to get rid of those responsible for that act of intentional slander. Do it now or you put another nail in the coffin of Freedom of Speech.
And the death of Trayvon Martin? We never got facts, all media outlets were too busy riding their biased agenda. Did Martin double back? Where was the body in relation to Zimmerman's vehicle? Where there signs of hypervigilance in Zimmerman's history before? Did Zimmerman know Trayvon Martin? We don't know and lame stream media won't tell us in a credible form. So we can only wait, what the police will figure out. Everyone who had made a judgment at this point, has a mere 50/50 chance to be right ... because we haven't the facts yet.-PB-
